This direction concerns how computational systems learn, reason, and fail, and how their behaviour can be evaluated before it is relied upon.
We are interested in evaluation methods that hold up outside the benchmark: measuring robustness, calibration, and failure modes in the conditions where a system will actually be used.
Notation and working. Computation begins as argument.
This is an initial research direction unless its status states otherwise. Projects associated with it are listed in the project archive.
